East Hampton Affordable Multiple Residence Zoning Provision

East Hampton has updated its zoning code to allow a specific type of small-footprint, multi-unit housing under what the Town calls the Affordable Multiple Residence Provision. This zoning pathway applies only to certain properties and comes with strict requirements around lot size, site planning, environmental constraints, and approvals. In practice, very few parcels actually qualify, and even fewer projects truly make financial and regulatory sense. The difference between a viable project and an expensive mistake usually comes down to early, disciplined feasibility work—before you spend serious money on design, engineering, or applications.
